Joshua Holden

President & Chief Executive Officer

Josh brings with him 15 years of experience building and running trading-related businesses both on Wall Street and on the Internet. The range of his trading expertise covers US Government Bonds and Options, US Agency Debt, FX spot and forwards, and US$ Derivatives (Swaps and Volatility). He has held desk-head positions at Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank, and most recently Countrywide Capital Markets. At every stop, he has focused on applying cutting-edge technology to the problems of price & model discovery, execution, and risk-management. Josh graduated MIT in 1993 with both a BS and MS in Electrical Engineering.

Dave DeCaprio

Chief Technology Officer

Dave has a broad range of experience in technology leadership and management at successful startups. Prior to joining Fina, he helped establish the chemical biology platform at the Broad Institute, which grew in three years to over 100 people and secured over $100 million in funding. Previously, Dave was chief architect at ITLS, which was purchased by i2 Technologies for $100 million in 1997. He was also the first software developer for eRoom, a highly successful groupware product purchased by Documentum and still sold by EMC. He graduated MIT in 1993 with a BS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and has published peer reviewed articles on machine learning, computational biology, and cheminformatics.

Colin Hill (Chairman)

President & CEO, Gene Network Sciences, Inc.

Colin Hill brings years of hands-on scientific experience to his role, with expertise in the areas of computational physics and systems biology. Hill is a frequent speaker at international scientific and industry conferences and has appeared in numerous publications and television segments including The Wall Street Journal, CNBC Morning Call, Nature, Forbes, Wired, and the Economist. He also serves on the board of directors of the New York Foundation for Science, Technology and Innovation (NYSTAR) and as a board member of AesRx, a biopharmaceutical company dedicated to the development of a new treatment for sickle cell disease. In 2004, Hill was named to MIT Technology Review's TR100 list of the top innovators in the world under the age of 35. He graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in physics and earned master's degrees in physics from McGill University and Cornell University.

Christopher Ahlberg, Ph. D.

CEO, Recorded Future

Dr. Christopher Ahlberg is CEO of Recorded Future, a new company developing the world's first temporal analytics engine, which helps users understand relationships between entities and events over time. Prior to leading Recorded Futures, Dr. Ahlberg was Executive Vice President, Tibco, Inc., and President of Tibco's Spotfire division, dating back to 2007. Prior to TIBCO, Dr. Ahlberg was the founder and CEO of Spotfire, Inc., a provider of enterprise analytics software for next generation business intelligence and scientific applications. Dr. Ahlberg was named among the World's Top Young Innovators by Technology Review, MIT's Magazine of Innovation, in 2002. Dr. Ahlberg earned his doctorate from Chalmers University of Technology, has worked as a visiting researcher at the University of Maryland, and has lectured and consulted extensively for industry, academia, and the military - as well as having published and lectured in computer science, psychology, linguistics, biology, and chemistry.

Kevin Brown

Partner, Reed Elsevier Ventures

Reed Elsevier Ventures is responsible for making investments in innovative late-stage companies that have the potential to provide the Reed Elsevier Group with new technologies, products, services or customers. Kevin was one of Reed Elsevier Ventures' founding partners in late 2000, joining from SOFTBANK/News Corporation's European joint venture fund, eVentures. Prior to that he was an entrepreneur, having founded a risk management technology company selling derivative pricing and management software to the banking and energy industries. Previously, Kevin had spent a number of years at Arthur Andersen's European strategy consulting practice where he specialised in helping many of the world's largest energy and utilities companies formulate merger and acquisition and growth strategies, helping them seek opportunities in markets that were being liberalized. Whilst at Reed Elsevier Ventures Kevin has overseen a number of important deals including iPhrase (acquired by IBM), Babylon (TASE: BBYL), Intraspect (acquired by Vignette), SRD (acquired by IBM), Inxight (acquired by Business Objects) and AllBusiness. He is currently active on the boards of Healthline, Jobster and Palantir. Kevin has a Master Of Arts degree in Social and Political Sciences from King’s College, Cambridge.

Robert Maroney

Investment Manager, Connecticut Investments, LLC.

Robert Maroney oversees all activities of a multi-entity family office and invests broadly in virtually every asset class. The individual entities vary considerably by size, risk profile and cash flow requirements. A large proportion of the assets are in alternative assets, including single-manager funds and private equity, along with a more modest allocation to venture capital. With over 40 hedge funds across all entities, the portfolio investments are constructed to meet the profile of each individual account. Prior to work as and investment professional, Maroney served as a division president of a multinational Fortune 200 firm and was the CEO of a privately owned global manufacturing company. He holds a BS in electrical engineering from Cornell University and an MBA with high distinction from the Harvard Business School, where he was a Baker Scholar.

Bill Trenchard

Board of Directors, LiveOps

With over a dozen years of experience as an Internet entrepreneur, Bill offers an expert perspective in his role as a Fina Technologies board member. Previously, Bill was CEO of LiveOps from January 2004 until December 2006 and was co-founder and CEO of CallCast, a revolutionary call routing technology firm that merged with LiveOps in 2003. Bill is currently a board member of LiveOps. Prior to CallCast, Bill was a managing director at idealab!, where he served portfolio companies in capacities ranging from a board member to interim CEO. Bill also founded and served as CEO of Jump Networks, Inc., which was acquired by Microsoft Corporation in April 1999. Bill has a Bachelor of Arts degree in science and technology studies from Cornell University.
